Other World Kingdom Sparks Renewed Interest in Female-Led Societies

Czech Republic – May 29, 2025

The Other World Kingdom (OWK), a self-declared matriarchal micronation founded in 1996, is regaining attention. Based in a 16th-century château in the Czech Republic, it was ruled by Queen Patricia I and required female citizens to own male servants. It operated with its own laws, currency, and societal rules until closing in 2008.

Recently, the OWK's grounds have been repurposed for fetish content, reviving debates on gender dynamics and alternative lifestyles.

Academics like Ian Erickson have examined OWK as a utopian experiment, further fueling its legacy as a provocative model of female-led power structures.
