Doormatory Investigates Bullying Incident Involving Group of Girls and Male Student

Dorm Incident in Cardiff : Male Student Alleges Humiliation by Female Residents

A troubling incident at a university dormitory has come to light, as a male student has accused a group of female dorm residents of bullying and public humiliation, claiming they forced him to bow to their feet during a late-night gathering.

The alleged incident took place in the common room of a co-ed dormitory affiliated with a reputed private university. According to the victim’s report, what began as casual teasing quickly escalated into an act of coercion and mockery.

Witnesses say the boy was surrounded by four female residents who began taunting him. Under peer pressure and laughter from onlookers, they allegedly ordered him to kneel and bow at their feet, framing it as a “dare” or “punishment” in a game. A short video clip of the incident, which circulated briefly on social media before being taken down, shows the boy appearing visibly uncomfortable as others laugh in the background.

“This was not playful,” said one student who witnessed the act but chose to remain anonymous. “He was humiliated, and people were filming it.”

The boy has since filed a formal complaint with the university’s housing authority. In response, the administration issued a statement:
“We are investigating a serious allegation of bullying and public humiliation within one of our student residences. All involved individuals will be questioned, and appropriate disciplinary measures will follow based on the findings.”

Experts in student psychology warn that such power-play dynamics—especially involving forced submission—can have long-term emotional effects.
“Even if masked as a joke, forcing someone to bow or submit physically is a clear act of psychological dominance and humiliation,” said Dr. Tasnim Rahman, a campus mental health counselor.

The university has temporarily suspended the students involved from dorm activities and has launched a peer conduct review panel. Counseling services have been offered to the victim.

Students are being urged to speak out against bullying in all forms, regardless of gender or context.
