In a bold act of self-defense and privacy assertion, a young woman in India bit a teenage boy after he allegedly attempted to take her photo without permission at a public park in Lucknow.
Eyewitnesses say the boy was following the girl and trying to secretly click her picture when she confronted him. When he refused to delete the photo and tried to walk away, the girl grabbed his arm and bit him to stop him from fleeing. The incident drew attention from bystanders, some of whom called the police.
Authorities have since detained the boy for questioning, and his phone is being examined. “Harassment and violation of privacy are serious offenses. We encourage women to speak up and defend themselves within the law,” said a police spokesperson.
